This year's Breakfast with Santa was a great success! Thanks to all the MTCWC members who helped set up, run and clean up from the event. Once again, Santa and Mrs. Claus were able to meet with many Mahomet children in early December.
The Mahomet Town & Country Women's Club is a non-profit volunteer service organization for all women. There is a place for you in our club whether you are a working woman, homemaker, married or single.
In the words of one member, "The club is a good introduction to the community, an excellent place to meet women with values like your own, a source of friendship, and a channel through which one can serve others. We're different--yet the same. We're reminded that when we help others with a cheerful heart, we help ourselves most of all."
We welcome all women in the community to our meetings and to consider becoming a member.
The MTCWC was founded in 1935 and federated under the General Federation of Women's Clubs in 1937. We have a long standing history in Mahomet. Our club meets at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of the month at the Mahomet Community Center from September through May. We do not meet in December.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Some of our present community service projects include: support of the Mahomet Public Library, Mahomet Area Youth Club, various public school programs and Mahomet Helping Hands. We present an annual scholarship to a graduating High School Senior. We also assist the Mahomet Chamber of Commerce in presenting Breakfast with Santa and we participate in the Sangamon River Music Festival.
In addition these service projects, we have monthly educational programs with topics that include community needs, health, home, school and the arts.
